Northeast Winter Lovers Suffer Through Warmth

It's been another warm, rainy day in much of the Northeast, with temperatures in some areas topping 40 degrees. If you hate shoveling snow, or paying big heating bills, that's good news.
Where's the white stuff? Why northern tier of US is mostly snowless.

Tweeting from Everest is a pretty impressive achievement. But unfortunately for Samsung and its PR team, Cool's tweet isn't the first. American polar-explorer Eric Larsen beat the Brit by about six months.

Maine ski area: Lift was being shut when it failed

Ski area employees working in blustery conditions were unable to realign a lift cable that was out of place and had restarted the lift at a slower speed to off-load riders when the cable derailed, sending skiers plummeting 25 to 30 feet, the Sugarloaf resort said Wednesday.
